Dinner! Oh My Yum! A longstanding tradition, dinner is the epicenter of the day for many many people worldwide. An attempt is made (hopefully) to pitch in, set the table, sit down, put away phones or computers, and eat with those we love. Sounds simple, but for many it is not. It is often where family tensions boil over, children are scolded, wives are demeaned, and sometimes the financial strain to put the dinner together renders it impossible. For me, it is never quite that complicated and it remains the lazy part of my day, where I make something (I only end up actually cooking about once a week) for one and sit on my couch and hopefully watch sex and the city reruns or the daily show. I wonder what's for dinner?

wives are demeaned? really? what is this 1950?
yeah seriously, i love me a good hamburger helper at night.... preferably with a sexy apron and kitten heels
what i meant was, that the table is the place where family tensions often arise, and that abusive relationships (verbal, physical or otherwise) are sometimes see on that 'stage', I was not refering to the old school idea that making dinner is the women's job.
